[/b] because of the intense training Colt underwent in the usage of his gun, along with the limited nature of his ammunition, he has developed this little trick to save himself from wasting ammo. When a shot misses its mark (designated through a link between Colt and his revolver) it can be regenerated back into the gun for a second usage. This only works up to three times a thread with the first three shots that miss.[/size][/blockquote]
COLTTHE GUNKNIGHT
RACE,Human
GENDER,Male
AGE,31
SEXUALITY,Heterosexual
POSTITION,Vigilante
PERSONALITY,Colt is a mysterious individual. The way he comes off seems different for every person. To some people he’s an incompetent goof while to others he really lives up to the knight part of his title. There are, however, some core values in his beliefs, some things he will constantly stick by. These reflect his true nature, hidden behind the many masks he wears. When it comes down to it some of these beliefs are so strongly imbued into Colt that he’d die for them, proudly. This could be considered a good and a bad thing. These beliefs are not necessarily problematic. They are not the kind of beliefs one gets called a fanatic for, they are righteous, part of his training as a knight, part of his very life. These beliefs are also quite simple. Loyalty, honour, dignity and respect. Colt stands strongly by all four of these things, despite all else.
There are, however, some very strong negatives to Colt’s personality, too. Things he was taught that may be considered a bit extreme, even if each lesson has a legitimate basis. Though he will give a chance, he will also not hesitate to kill when necessary. Kill or be killed. He can be very elusive about himself, his past, and his teachings, and is liable to disappear just as soon as he appears. He is quick to the draw, ready to put himself on the line for others in the name of a good deed. He is also very quick in thought, able to make quick decision and analyze the better scenario in most situations. This comes at the sacrifice of emotional pain, causing him to be quite sheltered, aloof when necessary.
APPEARANCE,Colt’s appearance is one that stands out and blends in at the same time. He can blend into a crowd quite easily yet stand out should a person know him. His typical garb includes a leather duster coat, sweeping the backs of his legs near his ankle. His pants are cotton with leather chaffs over them. Finally the shirt under the duster is white, buttoned up the middle and tucked into the belt of his pants. He can also be caught, sometimes, with a wide-brimmed hat. All this is off-put by the presence of a hand-and-a-half sword on his back, and the odd device at his hip, held by a second belt in a leather holster; his gun.
Colt’s features are worn and weary. There are times the man could look like a grandfather, and then there are times when he could be mistaken for being much younger than he is. They always show a hidden wisdom, however, developed from long years of training and travelling. His eyes are a faded blue, sharp and keen yet soft and kind at the same time. His hair is dark brown and wild, bleached at the tips by the sun. His face has rough scruff on it almost constantly, accentuating the hardened features. His face is typically carefully neutral, however it can change all the time, often containing a goofy grin or a scowling grimace, depending on which mask he wears.
NON-MAGIC,Survivalist: Colt has undergone extensive training that allows him to travel for days on end between civilization. He is used to both urban and rural environments and can get by with nothing but his dagger if necessary. From hunting and stealth to setting up shelter, he is a born and trained survivor.
Marksman: Colt’s training has let him become an expert marksman. He can throw darts and knives within millimeters of the bullseye and each other, shoot a bow or even fling a stone with a sling with almost pinpoint accuracy. Of course this all comes from his extreme potency with his signature weapon: his gun.
MAGIC,Revolver: see Weaponry.
Return Shot:
RACIAL ABILITIES,
Dexterity: Humans have a natural, higher dexterity, they are not as fragile as their Hylian counterparts and can withstand a little more physically.
Healer: Capable of healing minor wounds, scrapes and bruises. Takes one post, three post cooldown.
WEAPONS,
Hand and a Half Sword:[/b] a finely crafted weapon often called a bastard sword. It comprises the knight part of Colt’s title and is very well taken care of. Sharp and elegant, it is a masterfully crafted blade but it ends at that. [Non-Magical]
Revolver: this is Colt’s signature weapon and the other half of his class. This is a powerful magical artefact that combines inventive blacksmithing with long lost alchemy. Lead bolts are filled with an alchemic compound that ignites with a concussive force. The device itself holds a trigger that, when pulled, slams the hammer inward creating a spark large enough to ignite the alchemic compound, launching the lead bolt at high speeds from the barrel of the device. Due to the intricate nature of the device ammo is conserved, meaning it can only be shot for a total of six times per thread. [Magical][/size][/blockquote]
HISTORY,
Colt was born. Where was he born, you may ask? Well it’s not exactly known, even to him. It was somewhere near Kakariko Village, in the mountains. Wherever it was, it doesn’t really matter, for shortly after he was born he was removed from his home and brought to a monastery hidden away in those very same mountains. His mother was never heard from again, so her fate is unknown.
He was taken to the monastery because of who his father was. The role of a Gunknight is passed on through bloodline. Colt’s father was a Gunknight, so when Colt was born he was taken to become one himself. The monastery named him, raised him, and trained him. He was taught martial arts, unarmed fighting, swordsmanship, chivalry, marksmanship and essentially all the traits one would see in the conception of the ultimate fighter. This was constant training, with many sleepless nights and meal-less days, but Colt made it through.
Graduation from the training happened when the father of the Gunknight died. His gun was taken and passed on to his son, as well as his role as a Gunknight. Colt’s father died in battle, one of legend, in which he defended Kakariko Village from a horde of Dodongos. The battle was won, but at the cost of his father’s life. The legend doesn’t even include Colt’s father in its tellings nowadays, so the role of a Gunknight lacks grandeur or credit.
Colt was given his father’s Revolver during the graduation ceremony from the monastery. He was then dispatched, cast out of the monastery. He was finished his training and not allowed to return, lest he disrupt the training of the next generation of Gunknights. So he set out on the Gunknight mission: to right the wrongs of the world. Of course this mission is very subjective, and most Gunknights just ende up working as mercenaries. Colt, however, held true to the mission, even to this day.
