HENHEN
The Clumsy Coward
RACE,
Human.
GENDER,
Male.
AGE,
"Twenty-one and three-quarters!"
SEXUALITY,
Heterosexual.
POSITION,
Son of a trinkets collector and phony palm reader; an explorer.
PERSONALITY,
Far from being graced by Wisdom, Power, or Courage, Henhen is a talentless individual who has yet to serve any valuable purpose in society. His negative traits far outweigh the positive, as he is most known for being clumsy, cowardly, and weak. Despite his age, his attitude and manners are that of a loud and obnoxious child, and he has more often than not spoken without thinking first and when it was highly uncalled for. He tends to talk a lot when he speaks, and often annoyingly fast. He considers himself to have no enemies, while others consider him to have no friends. He cries easily when distressed, and when faced with any conflict, Henhen's immediate instinct is to cower or run away. He wouldn't sacrifice his own safety for anything if given the choice. To top that off, he's clumsy.
However, despite all this, there isn't a trace of meanness in him. Through his blunt statements, as rude as they are, it can be observed that he never tells a lie. He tries to be friendly--by his naive definition--to everyone he meets, regardless of their position or appearance. His lack of knowledge of the world and the peoples in it make Henhen both ignorant and curious about everything, which to some, might add a sort of charm to his otherwise frustrating character. He is generally outgoing, though is prone to becoming shy when suddenly the center of attention. His main interest and goal is to learn all he can about everything, and will travel to great lengths spontaneously to achieve this.
APPEARANCE,
See Image
Henhen is an average built lad who stands at 5'2" and slouches when he sits. His skin has a naturally light tone that burns easily in the sun, and more often than not is followed by an itchy peel. There isn't a trace of exercised muscle on his body, but neither is there any fat. He has a quick working metabolism that allows him to keep his skinny figure and light weight, though he far from physically fit. He's quite out of shape--proven by the fact that he becomes fatigued very easily when partaking in physical activity, such as running or labouring. However, like most humans, he does have a higher resistance to physical blows than others, but even with that he is pretty easy to beat down. Henhen could lose every fight. He isn't particularly fast unless running away and hiding is the concern, in which case, he's pretty good at it. He has a naturally low blood temperature, making him more susceptible to the cold. He also can't swim.
Henhen has clear green eyes that sparkle more with curiosity than any trace of intelligence. His expression is usually without care or concern, unless he happens to become confused or disgruntled. As well, when embarrassed or suddenly made shy, he's known to blush his whole face over. He isn't a very subtle or attractive crier...when crying, his face squints up like a child's, and his nose runs. All in all, though, he has a very attractive and youthful face. His hair is a rough blonde colour, and coarse like straw. It is usually unkempt, and tends to fall in the way of his face. This seems to result in being a distraction, as his habits include constantly brushing or blowing away his hair.
His attire is what only few people would consider strange, being of Hylian cloth and design. He wears a plain, long-sleeved white shirt done up with tiny golden buckles, always with the collars popped up, complimented with a simple red tie. Over that, he wears a greenish-grey open vest that matches the shirt in golden buckles and embroidery. He wears green, plaid shorts in an as an attempt to keep reasonably cool, and brown leather boots made specifically for the ease of a traveller. In colder temperatures, he wears a heavy purple cloak to keep him warm. Henhen wears no jewellery or accessories.
NON-MAGIC,
Clumsiness: For the love of the Goddesses, there isn't a more clumsy and accident prone lad in all of Hyrule. If there's any chance that that switch you really don't want to be pushed could be pushed...Henhen will trip into it. From stumbling over his own feet, to indirectly causing a religious feud, Henhen is clumsy far beyond what anyone would consider bearable.
Henhen carries with him countless trinkets and inventory that serve as nothing meaningful or worthy of note.
MAGIC,
Bottomless Bag: A carrying pack given to him by his father for the sake of containing limitless amount of inventory, without encumbrance.
Henhen isn't gifted with any magical abilities.
RACIAL ABILITIES,
Dexterity- Humans have a natural, higher dexterity, they are not as fragile as their Hylian counterparts and can withstand a little more physically.
Healer-Capable of healing minor wounds, scrapes and bruises. Takes one post, three post cooldown.
WEAPONS,
None: When it comes to self-defence, he will grab the nearest item and chuck it at something.
HISTORY,
Henhen was born nearly twenty-two years ago in Hyrule Castle Town as the son of a local trinkets and curiosity shop owner and his wife, a failing palm reader and fortune teller. He proved to be a particularly fussy baby and somewhat of a late learner…he couldn’t speak full sentences until he was about five years of age, and remained unable to understand most of the language. It remained this way for most of his childhood, with him only learning to read and write when he was twelve. As a child, he would normally spend his time in his father’s shop playing with the strange and exotic toys that most caught his interest (usually involving something shiny). He often showed more interest in playing around with strange objects than he did in playing with other children, who often ridiculed him for being “slow” or “stupid” anyway. When he finally began failing in everything academically, his father decided to keep him home and in his shop with the hopes that he’d gain an interest in running it in the future. However, with every new item that came in from somewhere out in the world, the more Henhen became interested in what was out instead of in.
When Henhen turned fifteen, a proposition was made for him to be married to the daughter of a neighbouring tradesman, to which his father accepted. During the arrangements, it was meant that Henhen and the trader’s daughter would for the first time meet. This meeting, however, would prove to have been a completely unpredictable circumstance.
”Eh? What’s that balloon thing on your nose? Or is that actually your nose? Hey, hey, it looks like I can pop it! Papa, it makes her look funny.”
…the union was unfortunately cancelled, and Henhen’s father became convinced that his son would never marry due to traits or workings of his own. Wanting a comfortable future for his son, he arranged for Henhen to meet with a councillor of such things with the hopes that said councillor would be able to find a suitable woman with whom Henhen could have a family. However, when meeting with said councillor, Henhen was unable to stop talking about all the “great items” in his father’s shop, and how he longs to see the places these items came from. In his excitement, he managed to knock over jewel encrusted box that shattered on its landing. In exclamation, he jumped from his spot and ran to gather up the pieces, when he tripped on the rug and fell face first into a wooden cabinet. This resulted in the cabinet wobbling, knocking from on top of it a lit lantern, which shattered onto the councillor’s desk, sending his papers into flames. Henhen was quickly able to put the fire out, but by using a nearby handkerchief of personal importance.
“….eh…I-I’m sorry….um…”
…Henhen left with bruises and minor burns, and a promise that he would never find a woman dedicated enough to deal with him. Later that evening, his father would heal these minor wounds, much to Henhen’s interest.
“Hey, hey, Papa, how can you do that?” “Eh? Heal? Everyone should be able to. It comes with us being Human, you know.” “Why can’t I do it?” “Well, Hen, perhaps you just haven’t matured into it just yet.”
…the ability of Healing would be an ability that Henhen would never ‘mature’ into, just as he would never learn any abilities of his own. All hopes and attempts for Henhen to someday marry became meaningless, and soon abandoned.
Henhen’s relationship with his mother throughout his existence is something of a puzzle. As he spent most of his time with his father, he never had the chance for any sort of bond with the woman who brought him into the world, and nobody seemed to mind. His mother, convinced that she was psychic (while others were convinced she was not), spent most if not all of her time attempting to communicate with the stars and doing palm readings for rupees. Any time Henhen spent with his mother usually involved him sitting beside her on her rug in the market, watching her perform her ridiculous fortune telling rituals. With the arrival of Fanadi’s Palace, his mother’s palm readings and fortune telling became even more doubtful and ridiculed, as they never came true in the first place.
“Hey, hey, Mama, you do know that everybody thinks you’re fake?” “Ignorance in the minds of the children of the Goddesses.” “You should eat soon.” “I am fed by the stars.” “You’re mad, Mama.”
…however, despite his mother’s seemingly stoic personality, she does care deeply for her son, and wishes for him the best. This wish, like that of his father’s, involved Henhen inheriting his father’s position.
When Henhen turned twenty-one, he finally decided that he’d had enough of sitting around his father’s shop and his mother’s rug. As much as he loved the strange and exotic items that came past him every day, he loved more the thought of the wide world from which they had come. He decided that he wanted to see this world for himself, to learn about the ways of the different cultures and people, and to learn about the history and culture of his own, outside of Castle Town. It wasn’t until a few months later, to the dismay of his parents, that he was prepared to actually leave and attempt this quest. His father, while worried for his son, made him promise to write to them often with details of his progress. As well, Henhen received from him an exotic traveller’s bag, the Bottomless Bag, with which he is supposed to bring home with him more trinkets and interesting items for the shop. Excited, without a thought of how dangerous the world might actually be, Henhen set out to explore the land of Hyrule and what lies within.
Henhen finds himself more often in the middle of trouble than out. He’s learned the hard way that it’s hard to do much exploring without there being any danger, and being a natural coward, is considerably useless in any dangerous situation. Despite this, Henhen will spontaneously join the quests of others, being thrilled to learn new things—while his only use in a quest, if any, is being able to store the inventory.

I don't mind. Bags of Holding aren't that big of a deal since they can't be misused too much. It's just a bag that fits a bunch of stuff in. You still have to be able to put it in the bag in the first place.

Agreed, the bag is relatively harmless and since he doesn't have any other abilities it is most certainly acceptable. This being said-
ACCEPTED You've made a wonderful Character and I can't wait to see him in action~
