Having trouble thinking up what kind of position your character should have in Hyrule? Well fear not, we're here to help~ This list is just something to kick your brain into gear, you're in no way restricted to the contents of said list, but hopefully with so many options we'll cut back on people running around as rogues. So, without further ado, here we go~
• Academic researcher– Knowledge is power they say, and museums don’t fill themselves. If history is your thing, this is a job for you!
• Animal Tamer/Trainer – Have a special connection with the animal community at large, maybe you can run a animal circus, single handedly!
• Architect- Have an eye for buildings? Grand, massive structures to house anything from the Royal Family to a modest bakery? The design them and run the work site~
• Artisan – A million possibilities! Wood carvings, glass blowing, royal paintings! The world is your oyster~
• Blacksmith – Is metal your thing? Do you enjoy making weapons? Do you like a hard days work? Then be a blacksmith! Smack things into shape with a hammer all day long~
• Cartographer – Put your traveling to good use, make maps! Explore the land and sketch out your surroundings for future generations~
• Chef – Be it in a small shop serving the good hard working people of Hyrule or within the confines of the Castle making only the finest meals for her highness, cooking could be your calling.
• Nobility – perhaps a duke or lord, or even a child or sibling of a leader (this has to be approved by said leader), enjoy pleasures of court without the responsibility of the kingdom.
• Doctors and Nurses – For the well educated; set broken bones, bandage wounds, apply ointment to burns and prescribe only the best of medicines.
• Dog Musher/Sledder – Run the wild mountains of Snowpeak with you and your pack~
• Farmer – Plants don’t grow themselves, there’s nothing shameful about the modest life of a farmer, be it planting corn, picking apples or raising cows.
• Fisherman/woman – Nothing wrong with turning a leisurely hobby into a nice little paycheck.
• Fortune Teller - Maybe you can legitimately see into peoples pasts and futures, but then again, maybe you’re just really good at tricking people into paying you to say things they want to hear, either way, setting up shop as a fortune teller could very well be profitable.
• Herbalist- Know all about plants? Their positive and negative affects? Then this is the job for you
• Instructor/Teacher – If you like passing on your knowledge to the young and moldable minds of the next generation then be a teacher. Math, Geography, even weapons! All those kickbutt kids didn’t learn their tricks by themselves~
• Roving gambler – Are you lucky? Do you like making money? Then maybe a career as a gambler is for you. Wander from town to town to avoid the law and gamble yourself into a life of riches… or poverty.
• Messenger – Letter’s don’t deliver themselves, be a messenger, spreads the good news… and the bad.
• Miner – Hey, you don’t find diamonds just kicking around on the surface, dig deep into the mountains, it’s your job.
• Musician – Be a well receipted party guest at any noble gathering, playing a tune that everyone can move to~ Or become a wandering bard, nothing says starving artist like playing the ukulele for spare change.
• Performer – Be a dancer, a juggler, even a contortionist~ If the stage is your life then a career as a performer is for you. • Pirate Captain – Sail the great wide sea and create chaos on any shore you land upon~ Not to mention stumbling around drunk with all the gold you could ever want.
• Pirate Crew – The man can’t run his ship alone! Help him out or through him overboard, which ever you prefer.
• Solider – You know your place, take up your arms and fend of evil!
• Storyteller – It’s a humble job, but oral history is an important part of society and how better to get people to listen then through a story~
• Thief – Can’t make it by on an honest days work, rather get things the easy way or maybe “steal from the rich and give to the poor” is your motto? Either way being a thief could be your game.
• Treasure Hunter/Graverobber – Why give up your precious and hard found artifacts to museums? Keep it or sell it, their’s money to be made in exploiting others!
