PLEASE READ. Resonance might run a little differently than sites you have been on previously. You do not have to like or agree to all the rules listed, but you are still expected to follow them. If you feel a rule should be changed, added or removed, please post it in the suggestions area for consideration.
General Rules: - This site is considered PG-13, coinciding with ProBoards' highest rating. This means swearing is allowed, but not in excess; adult themes are permitted, but please be aware of younger members on the site--mark threads containing mature content with an [X] in the title. We do not have a 'private' board. If you'd like to have those kind of RP's with your character, do it over PM's or your own email. Other than that, your public threads should 'fade to black' and end.
- Please keep all advertisements to the designated board. Advertisements posted outside this area will be deleted.
- No double posting. Please use the modify button.
- No fighting with staff or other members. If you have an issue with someone bring it up to a third party staff member or to the admin and we will deal with it accordingly.
- To keep the site looking the way it does, signatures may be no more than 400x200px and avatars no more than 100x100px. This also applies to pictures in posts; either resize it to 400px in width (height is not as important in post) OR use a URL code and link to the picture.
- This will be said once and only once: harassing a person out of character for their race, sexual orientation, gender, so on and so forth, will not be tolerated. In character, we know not all characters are tolerant and may show hostility. This stays in character and needs to be kept to a minimum. If a member requests that you cut back (through out of character PM or [Ooc: talk], the request needs to be respected. If you are caught harassing another member you will be in trouble.

Character Creation: -Once you've filled out your Character Sheet (CS), post it in the 'New Characters' board to be reviewed by staff members. This goes for all characters, both canon and original. Staff may suggest changes in your CS, and once it as been edited and approved, it'll be moved to the appropriate section and you're ready to RP~
- One character per account with a matching display name. If your character's name is John, then the member's display name is John.
- For the moment, we will only be allowing one canon per person.
- Once your character is approved, please link to your approved CS in your signature.
- For those making original characters, a Face Claim is recommended, but please no rips. For those who don't know, a Face Claim is using the picture of an anime/manga character as a basis for your own, whereas a rip is taking the face, clothes, attitude, background, powers etc. from that character.
- If you are looking to add interaction with your original character and a canon you need to PM a staff member before posting your profile. If your request is reasonable we'll approve it. If said canon character is taken, the final decision is up to the character, meaning that even if the staff says yes, the canon may still say no.
- As you RP your character you may add things and change things in their profile as you wish. Things like Boss and Quest rewards will be added automatically, but things like Magic Upgrades (MU's) which can be earned through contests, side-quests, and various other means, are yours to use as you like. When editing your character, post a thread with your characters name in the title (i.e. John, John's Revisions, etc.) and it'll be looked over and added to your CS. NOTE: you may revise your CS as many times as you'd like as things go on. Please use the same thread for your character, don't post a new thread every time.
- While the staff will try and review CS's and revisions in a timely manner, we are bound to miss things sometimes. If your character or revision has been posted for more than a day please PM a staff member so we can look it over~
- We will not allow people to fly around using super canons and abilities of mass destruction. Just because your character has 3 Magic Slots, doesn't mean you have to use them all. Please be sensible and reasonable when creating your abilities and be aware that it may be rejected if it is deemed too strong.
- We will be watching for age to power responsibility. What this means is that just because you are 16 and have been training since you left the womb, doesn't mean you are the strongest that has ever been and ever will be.
- In accordance with this age to power ratio we have a slightly evolved Military system here. Please click for a full explanation.

Rolplaying: - Please no god-modding/power-playing. If you don't know, god-modding/power-playing is the act of making your character undefeatable/invincible, "god-like", or controlling another characters actions. If you have an issue with someone god-modding please PM a staff member ASAP.
-As mentioned, your character must be approved before you can post in the RP boards.
- while there is no minimum word requirement for posts, we request no one-liners. We don't expect walls of text (in fact, it's mildly discouraged), but a good 100-200 word goal is good. Don't stress over not having a long enough post, all we can ask is that you try. Besides, the main idea is to have fun~
- Please keep your posts in a simple format. Coloured text is acceptable (as long as the colours are easy to see against the skin), but please keep the font as is. Don't center it unnecessarily or switch the text from left to right and back again just for the fun.
-Please do not use special characters in your posts or display names. Not all computers are able to generate them. Keep to the English alphabet, thank you.
- Once you've finished a thread put [EXIT] or [FIN] at the bottom of the last post and PM the link to a staff member. From there you and any other participants will be rewarded for the finished thread (an extra post for every post made in thread), and the thread will be archived.
NOTE: If a thread dies (i.e. no posts for 1-2 weeks, this excludes members posted absences) then it will be archived and no one will receive any rewards for the thread.
- You may be in up to three threads at one time. It is your job to keep track of your character's time line, but note that if you join a second (or third) thread, what happens there takes place after the ones you are already in. If you are already in a thread and you revise your character or gain a bonus from a Quest or Boss Battle, it does not apply in that thread. Those revisions will only take effect in threads started after the revision.
- You may fight your fellow members to your heart's content, unless there is a [NB] (no battles) in the thread title. If someone requests that no battles take place in their thread you need to respect that.
- If a character is killed in a PvP battle (this must be consented by both parties), the winner may claim one item from the deceased, and the deceased character's profile will be archived. If a character is killed in a Quest or Boss battle (can be done without character consent), they become a Poe and have 1 turn to spend 25 posts to revive themselves. If they don't revive themselves they will be removed from the Quest or Battle and remain a Poe until they either: A, revive themselves in their own thread (this only costs 15 posts) or B, allow the character to die and it is moved to the archives. In sub-quests, characters cannot be killed unless consented by the character. If they consent to die they will become a Poe and the same rules for Boss/Quests apply. If they do not, they can only be KOed, at which point they are removed from the sub-quest.
- While In Character please refrain making Out of Character talk, A simple "ooc: (sorry it took so long)" or something of the like is fine, but no full blown conversations. Also, please do not use chat speak, especially In Character. Posts should be written in the third person (he/she did, ran, etc.)

Quest, Sub-Quests and Boss Battles: - Quests are run by staff members and are related to the plot. Anyone can join a quest with situational exceptions (i.e. for Knights only or with a maximum number of participants reached). Quests have strict time limits, so if your miss your turn twice in a row, you will be left behind or KOed from a quest. When this happens, that spot opens for another member to step in if they wish.
- Sub-quests are member made and do not relate to the site wide plot. Members give a summary and criteria for their sub-quest in the designated area. If they would like to, members can request that a staff member run their sub-quest, or they may simply run it themselves. A sub-quest can be anything; long, short, puzzle, battle--anything.
- Boss battles are run by the admin. The are large plot points; anyone who does not want to be part of the site plot do not post in a boss battle. Boss battles will ,appear in two ways: A, after certain quests/sub-criteria are met, or B, in certain areas after so much time (no longer than a month should pass between boss battles). Boss battles will be harder than regular battles for obvious reasons, but they are by no means unbeatable~
- For every, Boss battle, Quest, and Sub-Quest, there will be rewards~ The rewards may vary from extra posts to Magic Weaponry. The reward is equal to the difficulty and length of the quest or battle, so a reward for a Boss battle will be exceedingly better than a reward for a sub-quest. Since sub-quests are member run, when you finish one, PM the link to a staff member and the members will be rewarded accordingly.
