"So long as I draw breath, the Fae shall remain under my protection. Death shall be kind to those who oppose me, and ignore their loss."

Tuatha Dé DanannKnight of the Fae
RACE,Oocca
GENDER,Male
AGE,34
SEXUALITY,Heterosexual
POSTITION,Guardian of the Fairies and Military Representative in a time of conflict
PERSONALITY,Tuatha is devoted to his cause: The protection of the Fae. He has literally endangered his life a number of times for a single fairy, because he believes that each and every one of them deserves to live. He refuses to let any get killed while he lives. He endangers himself because he believes that with his just cause, he will be able to pull through in the end. Just like the day where he nearly died and became grounded, he believes that the Goddesses will support him and allow him to continue his pursuit of justice.
However, he is not a fool. He knows that those who are elderly and sick beyond medicinal or magical help will perish, and he ensures that they are comfortable and pass on happily. Those who he can protect, those who are not meant to die though, he will defend with all of his being. He does everything he can for the sake of the Fae, to permit their kind race to continue to prosper.
His devotion to the Fae does not blind him to the workings of the world though. He knows they are not the highest race in social standing and does not have any intention to try and put them at the top. He respects those above him and does what he can to represent the good will of the Fae, despite not being Fae himself. Should someone of higher ranking try to force him to do something that is not in the best interest of the Fae, however, he would refuse it whole-heartedly.
APPEARANCE,
None have actually seen the current Tuatha, only seeing the armor that he wears in his duty. Not even the fairies truly know what he looks like beneath his armor these days, only knowing what was seen when he first crashed in the forest ten years ago. Back then, he had light brown hair, messily kept and having the faint resemblance to feathers. His eyes were golden and had a sharp look in them by default, but his kindness could not be mistaken in that gaze. It is unknown how much of this has changed during the years, as even when he rests he is able to keep his armor on. He stands at around five foot seven, though this is distorted some by his armor, and his true weight is unknown thanks to the heavy weight of the armor he wears. Should one ever see his back, they will notice two scars where his wings would have previously extended from, being marks left by the removal of the bones that connected his wings to the rest of his body.
The signature suit of armor that pretty much defines Tuatha is something that allows none to see who he is underneath. It is a suit of full plate armor, covering him from head to toe in metal plates, including his head. His helmet has a visor that is always kept down, with a vibrant blue plume extending out from the back and reaching about half way down his back. On his back he wears a matching blue cape, reaching to his ankles and being of a light weight fabric to avoid inhibiting him too much in combat. The plates that make up his armor are a light grey color, crafted from very fine steel, and underneath that he wears a suit of chainmail to protect him in case he needs it (this extends to his neck as well). His armor is somewhat scratched and dinged here and there, but this is merely a sign of his success, showing that he has seen many fights against the enemies of the Fae. Other than that though, his armor truly has no defining traits, but the signature blue in combination with his lance allows all to know who he is.
NON-MAGIC,Items
- His suit of armor is his prized possession, the symbol of his cause and that which allows him to persist despite all odds. It is not magical in any way, but he refuses to go out without it and is never really seen with it off in any way. It is composed of a durable steel, making it both light weight and powerful.
- A crystalized drop of water that he keeps on a string around his neck within the platemail, it was a gift from one of the fairies that healed him to proper health, and also the thing that encouraged him to take up this duty in the first place.
Talents
- Tuatha is rather light on his feet and nimble despite wearing a full suit of armor. Being trained in its usage, he knows how it does and doesn't move, and accomodates his fighting style to fit that rather than try to force the armor to move the way he wants it to move.
- Despite having no healing abilities of his own, he is trained in the ways of medicine thanks to the Fairies. He can nurse someone back to health should he need to and can administer a limited amount of treatment during combat, allowing one to at least continue fighting.
- As unlikely as it seems, Tuatha is a skilled musician, capable of playing most instruments that are currently in use. This is most likely the only thing resembling a hobby that the knight has. He is also quite a story teller, able to make even the most dreary of tales seem interesting.
- He is very capable in the ways of meditation, using that as a means of acquiring rest rather than sleeping like most. Meditation allows him to both maintain his connection with the Fae and keep his armor on should he need it. As a side effect, his focus and concentration are almost superhuman.
MAGIC,
- Protection of the Fairies: As the protector of all Fairies, Tuatha constantly throws himself into the line of fire for them, defending them with all of his being. However, on his own he is unable to defend all the fairies, knowing that some will be in danger beyond his knowledge. However, a blessing granted to him by the Fairies fixes this problem. This blessing allows Tuatha to maintain a constant, low-key connection all of the Fairy population. Should he feel that any of them are in danger, the blessing allows him to instantly teleport to their location in the ideal manner in which to defend them from harm.
- Fairy Sign - "Border of Fae and Reality": A spell developed in cooperation with the Fairies, it creates a contained area in which only Fairies can enter and exit as they please. All others are trapped within until either the spell fades, or if the Caster wishes it away early (maximum duration of 9 rounds, 5 round cooldown). The sign that it is beginning is the appearance of a magic circle beneath the caster's feet. The circle expands out to sixty feet in diameter, before forming a barrier of energy on its border, which prevents any non-Fairies from entering or leaving.
This provides benefits for both Fairies and the caster within its boundries, as the abilities of all Fairies within the field have their cooldowns reduced to 'once-per-post' regardless of their previous duration. As for the caster, their magical strength is tripled and they gain the ability to fire blasts of energy in any of the elements (either magical or natural). These blasts can vary in size and shape based on what the user wishes, and their strength is equal to the user's magical strength (at his current strength, including the boost, each one is high level magic). These blasts can only fly forward, but their path does not need to be in a straight line. The blasts do not need to originate from the user's body, but can form around him and fire at his will. One thing to note about these blasts is that while they can inflict high amounts of damage, they cannot kill under any circumstances. What would normally constitute a death blow will instead simply knock them unconscious if delivered by the blasts. They do not inflict physical wounds, but rather damage the target directly, weakening them physically without harming them (they are still subject to resistances and weaknesses, however).
RACIAL ABILITIES,Teleportation- The oocca are capable of instant teleportation from one place to another. The may teleport a max of 4 times before it requires a three post cooldown.
WEAPONS,
- Fragarach: A jousting lance composed of sturdy wood, it is Tuatha's weapon of choice and he almost always brings it with him into combat. It is mainly painted white, with a blue stripe running in a spiral pattern up the lance to the tip. It is not the kind of lance used in actual combat, but in competitive jousting between knights, thus it is not meant to kill. This is exactly as Tuatha wants it to be, and the enchantment upon it only furthers this. While holding it, Tuatha's physical strength is tripled and all damage dealt by the lance is triple what it normally would be (these do stack). However, all damage dealt by Tuatha while wielding the lance and the lance itself cannot kill, and simply weaken them rather than inflict real physical wounds. What would normally consitute as a death blow will simply knock the victim unconscious.
In addition, so long as he carries Fragarach, his equipment is protected from damage, allowing it to stay in top condition (including the lance itself). He can also exist comfortably in any environment with the lance.- A steel halberd that is often left in the care of the Fairies, it was his weapon during his time in the army. He still keeps it in case he should ever need to inflict real physical harm, but he avoids using it as much as possible.
HISTORY,Tuatha was an educated youth, born in the City in the Sky from two parents both gifted in certain arts. His mother was a musician and his father was a writer, so he was often exposed to music and various forms of literature during his early years. He often enjoyed the works of his parents, more so than any works of others brought into the house, and was probably their biggest fan. They were talented, but unfortunately, they were also not well known even within the City. They were more so a cult hit than anything, though it was enough to allow them to get by.
In particular though, he was rather fond of stories involving a hero saving the world, kingdom, or something of the such. He always found himself envious of their grand lives, the adventures they go through, and how eventful they are. Sure, he enjoyed his quiet home life, but there were times that he longed for adventure. He got a wooden sword and played pretend with some of his friends when he wasn’t busy doing something else, and even spent some time composing what he called ‘his victory theme’. It was crudely written (when played, it sounded off-key most of the time), but it was a joyous song, and his parents often opted for him to play it during special occasions.
When he got older, he began to learn of the Hylian Military, and that it took in all sorts of races, including Oocca. This raised his hopes about being able to be the kind of hero he always read about in stories, wielding a sword against evil and fighting to defend everything he cares about. He began reading the reference material that his father had collected for some of his stories, things about weapons, armor, and military tactics, among other subjects related to combat. He knew it wouldn’t make him an instant combat specialist, but he’d definitely be able to move along quicker once he got his hand on a blade if he already had some knowledge in his head.
His parents encouraged him to do what he wanted to do, and wished him to be safe during his time of service. They had both pursued their dreams, and they felt no reason to keep their own son from doing the same. Thankful for this, he joined the military, and became a part of the aerial division meant to take care of flying enemies, as the Oocca were the only race capable of flight that had high offensive capabilities. Rather ironically, instead of wielding a sword like he always imagined, he ended up wielding polearms. In particular, he tended to use a lance and a halberd; the former was for when they were to charge an enemy head on, and the latter for when extended combat was necessary. Although he did learn ways to use a lance in extended combat if need be, he preferred the halberd for such situations.
He was definitely among the more eager recruits, but despite this, he was able to differentiate himself with how quickly he picked up on the art of combat. His knowledge aided his practice, and by learning with the same weapons, he was able to adjust himself to their weight and work with the weapon rather than try to make the weapon work with him. His progress was actually much quicker than the other recruits, and it wasn’t long after he joined that he rose to the rank of Sergeant. His work on the field after that was as impressive as his training, and he actually rose to the rank of Captain sooner than most, actually being at least a year younger than most captains, the rest more so.
However, his military service would end soon after that. His first act as captain was leading a squad into battle against a group of Aeralfos that had recently take up residence in the Faron Province, and were causing trouble for all of the inhabitants of the area. Intending to prove himself once more both to his superiors and to those under his command, he boldly charged into the Aeralfos intending to take out their leader, having his squad deal with the rest. Things started out great, and they even had the Aeralfos on the defensive. Eventually though, they had decided that if they’d go down here, they’d take out the military leader with them. Some of them ganged up on him, and all unleashed a stream of fire onto him. While his armor and weapon were fine, his wings had caught flame quickly, and were engulfed. Needless to say, they couldn’t keep going like that and he fell out of the sky into the woods.
Although he didn’t know it, his squad were following pre-given orders and upon defeating the Aeralfos, they returned to base to report their success, unable to look for their fallen leader. He was declared MIA and promptly replaced.
He himself had managed to survive, but not on his own. He was found by a group of Fairies, and they cared for him and nursed him back to health. His wings were lost, as on top of being burned the bones had been shattered and crushed on impact with the ground. He was a permanently grounded Oocca, though he had survived what would be considered fatal for most. In particular, one of the fairies cared for him more than the others, staying with him until he was fully healed. She left after that, but left him a gift, a crystallized drop of water. She didn’t know she left it, and she didn’t know that it would motivate him to begin his current crusade.
Once he was able to move, he donned his armor, and took on the name Tuatha Dé Danann as a symbol of his new goal. He would no longer serve the military, but act as a defender for the Fairies, which he referred to as the Fae because of a story he read as a child. He began protecting them even though they never asked for it, and as time passed, they began to acknowledge him, and even praise him. He became acquainted with the Great Fairy, who agreed to allow him act as a defender for the Fairies. With her blessing he pursued his goals and acted to protect those who had no defender.
It’s been ten years since he first crashed into those woods, and he is well-known both by the Fairies as their protector, and by the rest of the world as the knight of the fae, acting as a representative for them in a time of conflict.
