“Hey, hey, butterfly, Why do you fly so high? I climb a tree to get to you, You fly away and I am stuck! Oh! Hey, hey, butterfly…”
…this was a horribly composed and written song that Henhen had created himself and been singing for the past fifteen minutes. It didn’t even rhyme.
“..I climb a tree to get you, You fly away and I am stuck!”
However, it did very nicely lay out Henhen’s current predicament.
As can only be expected, Henhen had once again gotten distracted by a shiny butterfly that had crossed his path early that afternoon, and made it his very own mission to finally obtain it as a souvenir. His quest to do so had resulted in him spontaneously climbing up a tree in hopes of being able to reach its level. He did reach its level, just fine. However, he failed in obtaining the bug, and now he’s too scared to climb back down without hurting himself.
So, there he is, sitting up in a tree, his legs dangling over the side of a thick branch, swinging back and forth as he sang his song. Henhen’s face was bright and goofy as ever, as if he had forgotten that he was wasting his time in a tree. It was a wonder that he didn’t fall.
“Hey, hey, shiny bug—eh? Hey, hey! There’s a person down there!” His singing stopped as he noticed someone walking by. His face lit up at the thought of meeting another person, and Henhen called out in the most cheerful of tones, waving his arm in the air. His straw-like blew stupidly with the leaves in the wind.
“Hey, hey! Up here! Can you hear me over there?”

Leoni had been walking through Hyrule field, arms down at his side and head held high. His hair blew mostly all to one side in the wind, causing only half of his face to be visible which itself was emotionless. His thoughts, however, seemed distracted. His most recent research had turned out to be completely fruitless, and he couldn’t help but be slightly annoyed at the effort he had put into locating a reading certain documents, only to discover that they were kept in a farmer’s box of “interesting” rocks--which really had nothing interesting about them. Leoni spent days with the idiot farmer and his idiot family, barely making it out with his sanity. If he had thought about it at all, however, he could have considered it a blessing that a group of people could stand to keep him in their home for as long as they did, being the unpleasant person that he is.
Leoni stopped walking when a voice cut its way through his thoughts. He listened to determine it’s direction, which seemed to be up and to the left of him. He glanced over to the nearby tree, and followed the tree upwards with his gaze.
There, sitting on one of the higher branches, was a boy—no, a man—no…it was difficult to determine at first glance. He had the body of a man, but the features and expression of a boy. He was grinning and waving like a fool, and Leoni decided that he had no respect for him, whoever he was.
“What?” He said bluntly, without moving towards the tree. He stayed where he was, only his face pointed in that direction.

Henhen was rather pleased at having succeeded in getting the stranger’s attention. He seemed to have not noticed the harshness in the man’s voice when he responded, but even if he had, Henhen wouldn’t have thought anything of it. He chuckled to himself happily, and picked a leaf out of his hair.
“Hey, hey…do you think you could come over here?” Henhen asked. “I seem to have found myself up a tree…and I can’t get down. You look like the helpful sort!"
Except, he really didn't. But Henhen didn't know any better.
"I was chasing something, you see, but it flew too high for my arms to reach. I came up here so I could reach better. Eh, but that didn't go too well either."
Henhen scratched his head, then shrugged. He didn't think it was really important why he was up there, but he thought that maybe the stranger might be interested to know. He wiggled in his spot on the branch.

Leoni stared up at the person silently for a few moments, not phased by the other's apparent eagerness. He tried to determine in his mind the consequences of him walking away without a word, and those of him daring to speak the matter further. He stood motionless, his gaze hard.
Finally, he moved, and walked over to the base of the tree, tilting his head so that he could still keep the other person in his vision.
"Get down the same way you got up," he said simply, his voice monotone. Leoni wasn't exactly thrilled at the possibility of having to...help this person, but coming this way gave him the opportunity to take a break from walking and stand beneath the shade. The fellow in the tree didn't appear to be a bandit, or physically capable of stealing from someone even if he tried. Between his options, to leave or stay, somehow his conscience convinced him to come in this direction, for fear that the stranger was comparable to someone's lost pet.

"Get down the same way you got up."
Henhen rubbed his forehead with his hand. It wasn't that he hadn't thought of that approach. It was just that Henhen was afraid of falling--which he undoubtedly would have.
He smiled down at the stranger, rubbing the back of his head bashfully.
"Hey, hey...I considered doing that but then I decided that it wouldn't work. See, when I was climbing up, I was distracted by my goal and didn't really focus on anything outside my main line of vision." Henhen curled his hands around his eyes as if they were tunnels, and used this to represent his 'line of vision'.
"But now that I'm up here, if I try to climb back down all I can see is what's down there and around me and I think that if I make the ground my goal that I will fall there too quickly. I'm also afraid I'll trip or something, because I'm very good at that! Eh? That makes sense doesn't it?"
Well, you are very good at tripping.

Leoni frowned slightly at what would have been the stranger's attempt at sounding logical. Unfortunately, what he had said made a tad bit of sense, but Leoni wasn't impressed. He tilted his head to the side and narrowed his eyes. He wasn't entertained.
"You're some kind of idiot, aren't you?" Leoni said coldly. After closer observation, he could only assume that this stranger wasn't a great deal younger than Leoni himself, yet he acted like an ignorant child. This bothered him, and he no longer held this contempt from his expression. He wondered if the stranger above him was someone's uneducated servant, who due to his years of mocked servitude hadn't learned his right from his left. If this were the case, he should be returned to his cage immediately before he caused trouble.
Leoni sighed with displeasure, and broke his cold gaze by looking away. He began to remove his jacket, doing so slowly and with an air of unnecessary formality.

"You're some kind of idiot, aren't you?"
Henhen didn't say anything, but he stopped smiling. It was in the form of a question, but he's pretty sure that he was supposed to be insulted. The tone in the stranger's voice was far from friendly--even Henhen could notice that.
However, when he removed his jacket, Henhen smiled again. He assumed now that this person was going to actually help him down, despite how he was acting.
"Hey, hey! What are you doing?" Henhen asked casually, swinging his legs. "Are you going to help me get down? I assume you are, which is why you took of your jacket. Hey, hey, are you afraid it'll get dirty? Eh, I get it! You're going to climb up here to help me get down! But...how do you expect that to work? Maybe you can carry me, but you don't look very strong. Are you a Hylian? You look like a Hylian. I come from the castle town, so I've seen a whole lot of Hylians before."
Henhen rambled on happily, additionally pleased that he now had someone to talk to.

Leoni folded his jacket and placed it on the grass, his lean frame even more prevalent in nothing but a light dress shirt, its folds moving gently in the wind. He looked back up at the tree, hearing the other's voice speaking, but not paying attention to what he said. It wouldn't be too hard to climb, but it was pretty high, and some of the distance between branches were a bit far. He could see that some had been damaged from when the other had climbed up, and Leoni had to make a rough plan in his mind on how to proceed.
He placed his hands on the first branch, and lifted himself onto, reaching up to grab the next one as his feet landed. The person above him kept right on speaking, and Leoni felt himself getting annoyed.
"You talk too much," he said sharply, without looking at him.

Henhen continued to speak until he was rudely cut off. However, it didn't bother him. Instead, he just smiled down at the man, shifting his position so that he could see the climber easier.
"Eh? Yes, I suppose I do talk too much. That's what I've always been told, anyway. But talking too much is better than not talking at all! Silence can be very awkward sometimes." He paused. "Hey, hey! Are you the silent type? That's okay if you are, I don't mind. I'll be silent for a little bit too if it'd make you feel better."
So, amazingly, that's what Henhen did. He sat there on his branch silently, watching as the dark haired man below him slowly and carefully made his way up the tree. He thought this person was very interesting, and the way he never seemed to smile or show emotion. True, he had shown general distaste for Henhen earlier, but that vanished pretty quickly. As well, the way the other man moved, captivated Henhen. He moved with a formal sort of air that Henhen hadn't seen before, except for when he had met the Princess. He wondered if maybe they had something in common.
In these thoughts, Henhen's face lit up and he giggled to himself, clapping his hands in childish joy. They did have something in common!
"They're both saviors to me," he said to himself happily.

Leoni ignored the person above him as he continued to chatter away, focusing instead on his footing. However, he couldn't help but notice it when it went silent. He paused to look above him. The other man just watched him, smiling down at him without a care in the world. This bothered Leoni somewhat, and with darkened eyes, he looked away. He moved up to another branch, then became distracted once again when the person above him giggled and clapped. Leoni frowned. He was acting like a child. Though he didn't know the man's age, he knew that he was at least older than his behaviour was appropriate for.
After a total of nearly ten minutes, Leoni had reached the human's location. He situated himself on the same branch, which weakened under the weight. Leoni didn't pay any attention to it. He allowed himself to look into the human's face. It was overly youthful, and he could see in the man's eyes that he had no general concerns, and he couldn't help but wonder if he would see anything should the pocket-watch be used against him. His face emotionless, Leoni turned his back to the human.
"Get on," he said said simply. "And don't talk."

Henhen cried out in slight fear as the Hylian sat on the branch with him, afraid for a moment that it would break. However, he became distracted by being able to get a look at his face. He didn't look very old--not as old as Henhen thought he was by his attitude and the way he held himself. His eyes, though, were slightly disturbing. It was as if there was no emotion in them. No happiness, no joy.
It was weird.
The Hylian turned away from him, and Henhen blinked away his thoughts. He was told to get on the man's back, and not to talk.
"Eh? On your back? But you don't look very strong to carry me, you know." Yes, of course he talked anyway. However, even though he was unsure about it, Henhen moved forward and wrapped his arms around the Hylian's neck and shoulders. He felt his face go red, just like it had when he and Zelda had touched before. This situation was similar to when he was younger, and his father would carry him around on his back. Henhen just wasn't used to feeling such sensations from over people.
Instinctively, Henhen held onto the stranger tighter, and closed his eyes. If he was about to go down the tree, he was too afraid to keep his eyes open.

Leoni sighed. He had told the human to not talk. If he planned on talking, it was going to make the climb down even more difficult. However, Leoni said nothing back, and waited. He could tell that it was with hesitation that the human gathered himself behind Leoni, and was slightly surprised at how gently he wrapped his arms. The way the human tightened his grip made Leoni glance over his shoulder at him. His eyes were closed. Was he afraid? He supposed that would only make sense. Fear is the reason he was stuck up here in the first place. Still, it continued to amaze Leoni how childlike this man was.
Without a word, Leoni grabbed onto the tree and made his way down to the next branch. It was easier to carry him on his back than he had expected, but he still wasn't without extra weight. Leoni wasn't particularly strong, just as the stranger as said. However, he had fine balance, and as long as he took his time, he'd be able to make his way down the tree in this way without issue.
He continued to say nothing as he focused on climbing down.

Henhen kept his eyes closed, occasionally feeling the tickle of leaves and branches on their way down. He hoped that they would be on the ground soon, and he wondered how much longer it was going to take. Time seemed to drag on, and he was still afraid to open his eyes. He was afraid that if he did, that would somehow result in him dropping off of the Hylian's back and falling down. It would be a painful landing.
Then, he thought of the Hylian himself. It was very kind of him to stop and help Henhen down! Maybe he was a nice person. The thought of this made Henhen feel a bit better about his situation, and he smiled to himself.
