A day has 24 hours, 1,440 minutes, or 8,6400 seconds. A whole lot can happen in twenty-four hours. Twenty-four hours is all it takes to turn the Earth. A lot of time, right? Then why do the days at Hogwarts seem to fly by? Even in the wizarding world the time is the same. Time flies when you’re having fun, like that saying goes, but is that always the reason? Of course, some students keep their focus only on passing their OWLs and NEWTs, but the others have a lot of drama going around them in a day and the drama just accumulates, complicates, and grows with each day. Adding to that is the choice of the new headmaster, which doesn’t seem like it would affect many, unless you missed McGonagal dearly, but has caused a bit of an uproar among some families. Take a look at this clipping from the Daily Prophet…
‘“No grandchild of mine will attend Hogwarts while that clumsy fool is in charge,” an angry Draco Malfoy stated on Hogwarts’ new headmaster, Neville Longbottom. However, Mr. Malfoy’s grandchild still attends the school and when questioned about it, he replied, hesitantly that ‘the family is preparing alternatives’.
Another issue dealing with a few students in Hogwarts is this one…
‘The debate on whether or not half-breeds should be allowed to attend Hogwarts is still going under discussion at the Ministry. “It’s not discrimination, just for the safety of the public,” the Minister was reported to have said during an interview last night. This matter is more implied to the werewolves, seeing that veelas and metamorphagi aren’t harmful, though the werewolves are required to keep it secret at school.’
Even if the two greater problems don’t affect you, drama is drama and everyone has it. Days go by quickly, things happen so fast, that all the students are thinking the same thing: SLOW ME DOWN
