The short list of work that needed to be done had been completed early in the morning, now as the sun began to descend in the early afternoon Luis, or Lulu as he'd come to being called, was dangling on the edge of boredom. Cale and the twins had taken the task of going into Castle Town for supplies that they couldn't get here and would be gone all day and his sister was roped into helping clean for their mother.
Lulu felt the press of a rather downcast day, he hated to be left alone and now wished he'd joined the others in their excursion. Shoulders slumped and dragging his feet he walked down the practically empty streets of Kakariko, fingers mentally crossed that something of interest would take place.

Leoni stopped just outside the village, the ground beneath his feet having gone from lively spring grass to the dusty red ground of Kakariko. He felt the temperature grow warmer as afternoon approached, and he glanced over his shoulder. He was still being followed by the guy he met in the fields, who was clearly exhausted from walking without a break. Leoni decided that he must be out of shape. He looked away from the human again, and walked into the village. He noticed it as being quiet, as it usually was from what he could remember.
Leoni had come here with the intention on meeting the with town's shaman, if at all possible. He had questions he needed to answer regarding the mountain, but he wanted to avoid talking to the Gorons as much as he could. He found them to be an unpleasant race, and stupid.
"Oye," he said simply, calling back behind him. "This is Kakariko Village. You can stop following me here and--" Leoni was cut off by a slight pain that went off in his chest. To his side was the Spirit's Spring, which he was forced to be ridiculously close to due to the layout of the village. He held one hand to his chest, and wiped his face with the other. He kept walking, the pain subsiding the further he got away.
Leoni noticed a young man in the road ahead of him, by himself and dragging himself along as if depressed. Leoni stopped, and waited for his followed to catch up to him, a plan forming in his mind.
"That fellow over there," Leoni said, when he was certain that he could be heard. His breathing was slightly heavier than it was before, due to his painful experience. "He is here to welcome you to the village. He'll tell you anything you need to know, if you just ask."
Leoni had learned that his follower was filled with ridiculous curiousity, and if all went well, he'd be able to pawn the idiot off on someone else.

Henhen was exhausted. He more dragged himself along than he did walk.
"Hey, hey..." he said to himself, "Does he ever take a break?" Henhen looked ahead at the dark haired Hylian that walked casually ahead of him, as if walking non-stop was just a normal thing for him. He hadn't spoken to Henhen for hours at least, and Henhen forgot why he was following him in the first place. They didn't seem to actually be going anywhere, and the scenery didn't really change. Until, however, Henhen noticed that he was no more walking on grass, but that he was dragging his way through dirt.
"Eh?" Henhen bent down and touched the ground with his hand, his face lighting up with fascination. He'd never seen something like this before! The ground was hard like the ground should be, but had a soft layer on top to the touch, which would be the dust. He giggled like a child.
This was it!
This was a completely new location! A place bound to be filled with wonders he'd never heard or seen before!
"This is Kakariko Village," he heard the Hylian say, and Henhen stood back up. His energy suddenly returned to him, he ran to catch up, prepared to ask a number of questions regarding his location. However, he stopped suddenly when he noticed the composure of the Hylian change. His hard posture that Henhen had gotten used to seemed non-existent, and the Hylian looked almost as if...as if he was in pain.
Frightened, Henhen took a step backwards, his body shaking. He wondered if there was something here that was causing it, and if he himself was now in any danger. However, just as Henhen opened his mouth to voice his concerns, the Hylian was back to normal. The strange occurrence seemed to leave as quick as it came. Henhen stood there, stunned and confused, as the Hylian continued walking.
"Hey, hey, I might have just imagined it. Everything seems okay now!" Henhen grinned again, and continued to follow. He noticed the Spring as he walked past it, and giggled in happy awe.
"Pretty!" He said out loud, referring to the way the water sparkled in the afternoon sun, as if magical.
"That fellow over there," He heard the Hylian's voice call out to him, "He is here to welcome you to the village. He'll tell you anything you need to know, if you just ask."
Henhen's eyes widened in joy, and he looked to the person referred to, not particularly noticing the clear boredom in the way the stranger carried himself. Henhen clapped his hands in joy, and picked up his moving pace to nearly a run. However, as it would happen, he stumbled on his own feet, and as a result toppled into the Hylian, knocking the two of them onto the dirty ground. Henhen landed half on top of him, scrapping his hands on the ground. He ignored this, however, and from where he was, began waving and calling out to the person in the road.
"Hey, hey!" He called out happily. "Here I am! Over here! I'm here!"

A voice drew Lulu's attention and he lifted his gaze from the dusty ground to the two individuals walking towards him. They Hylian seemed rather... annoyed at something, or perhaps in pain, it was hard to tell, but the kid behind him seemed to go from weary to overjoyed in about two seconds.
Here to welcome him? Lulu thought, he didn't even know who the boy was, but he smiled, glad to maybe have some company now. She started walking towards them only to watch as the smaller man full on fell into the well dressed Hylian tossing them both into the dirt which practically exploded into a cloud around them.
"Oi! Are you two all right?!" Lulu rushed forward and held his hand out to the excited boy to pull him to his feet, the kid seemed like a klutz, but Luis could already feel the other humans hyperactive mood rubbing off on him.

Leoni gasped as Henhen crashed into him, attempting to keep his balance, but eventually falling onto the ground anyway. He cringed in pain as he landed, and felt the wind get knocked out of him as Henhen landed on top of him. The cloud of dust that followed caused Leoni to cough and rub his eyes, and he growled in obvious annoyance.
"Oye!" He said, as Henhen remained on top of him, stupidly. "You idiot, get off of me!" He felt his anger rising, and realized that this was the first person who could so easily stir such strong emotion within him.
He heard the other person's voice above him, and Leoni took the opportunity to shove Henhen off of him with all his power, not caring if he was rough. He took hold of the stranger's hand that had been held out for Henhen, and used it to lift himself to his feet. Once he was standing, he began to wipe dirt off of his clothing and hair, which appeared to be reasonably fruitless. He glared down at Henhen, hate in his eyes.
"Learn to control your stupidity," he said harshly, making a point to kick some of the red dirt at the young human. He didn't care that there was someone standing right there with him, nor did he care if he hurt anyone's feelings. "You're a nuisance."
Leoni was tired of being followed around by this person he cared nothing about. He turned his back on Henhen, and faced the stranger.
"You can have him," he said coldly.
And with that, he walked away. If anything was said to him, he ignored it. He had his reasons for being here, and was going to take care of them by himself.

Henhen happily smiled as the stranger approached them, and held out his hand to take his hand. As he did, though, he was violently pushed off by the Hylian below him, and landed uncomfortably in the dirt. He scratched the palms of his hands even more than they were with his landing, and he spun around to look up at the Hylian.
For a moment, he was frightened. The Hylian looked as though he was prepared to strike him down. The dirt got kicked into his face, and Henhen choked, attempting to rub his eyes with his scratched hands.
"You're a nuisance."
Henhen flinched, and looked away sadly. Really, he should have taken the hint days ago that the Hylian didn't like him. But Henhen's just a bit stubborn like that. He thought to himself while looking away, remembering such things as the butterfly.
Henhen looked up as the Hylian was walking away, but his face wasn't sad. Henhen looked ridiculously happy, and looked at the stranger.
"Hey, hey!" He said happily, grabbing a handful of dirt. "This stuff is amazing, eh? But it's so red....say, can you teach me about this? Oh!" He suddenly remember where he was, and looked around excitedly at the village. "Amazing...I've never been to a place like this before."
He dropped the dirt, and clapped to himself happily, laughing. He acted as though the Hylian had never been there, as if his feelings had never been hurt.

Lulu watched as the Hylian shoved the boy of and grabbed his hand, pulling himself up, the unexpectedness nearly pulling Luis to the ground. He righted himself though and watched the man as he tried to brush of the dirt and curse the other human. If Luis had never met another Hylian this man would have just given them a horrible name and he was glad to see him leave.
Quickly he turned his attention to the other, he'd expected to see some kind of sadness or even just pain from the scratches on his knees and palms, but instead he seemed ecstatic to be in Kakariko.
"Oi, you're a tough one," Lulu smiled as the kid dropped the dust and looked around, he followed his gaze, it was just a village to most, but Lulu could sense this boy could sense the same excitement that clung to everything.
"I can teach you," He laughed and stuck out his hand for the kid to shake, I'm Luis, but everyone calls me Lulu"

Henhen's eyes sparkled. He wasn't a very difficult one to please, this human. He wiped his hands on his vest, flinching as they stung from the scratches. However, he just ignored it, and pulled himself to his feet.
"Eh? Lulu?" He grinned at him happily, and took his hand to shake. He didn't have a particularly strong grip, but he shook it with a violent excitement before dropping it quickly. He took a few steps away and clapped again, flinching at the pain.
"Hey, hey! I should stop doing that, it hurts." He blew on his palms, then ignored it again. He turned back to Lulu.
"Hey, hey, Lulu! You're a human, aren't you? Your ears are small like a human. Though...they're bigger than mine and kind of look funny." He smiled. "I've only ever met Hylians since I left home...hey, hey...I wonder if he plans on coming back." Henhen's voice trailed away into a mumble as he thought about this. Sure, the Hylian was angry at him for knocking him over.
Maybe he should apologize. Why hadn't he thought of that before? Maybe if he had, he wouldn't have stormed off like he did. Henhen looked around. He didn't know where the Hylian would have gone. However, looking at the village again lit up his face again in joy, and he ran over to Lulu, grabbing onto his arm, somewhat spinning him around like an excited child would.
"Hey, hey! Lulu! Say, can you show me new things? Oh! My name is Henhen! I forgot to say that didn't I? I don't really have any nicknames but sometimes I get called Hen. I wonder if that's because people are too lazy to say the entire thing? Eh, and the Hylian calls me Cucco, but I don't remember why. Maybe he forgot my actual name?"
He let go of Lulu's arm, and pointed at the first building he could see.
"Hey, hey! What's there?"

Lulu's smiled widened as the boys excited nature exploded. It made his own personality blossom and he clapped his hands along with him completely ignoring the big ear remark, it wasn't the first time he'd heard that.
"Haha! That's the bar!" He said as Hen pointed at the nearest building, excited to explore the town with someone who'd never been here before. He grabbed Henhen's arm and started down the street, smiling and occasionally laughing, "And that's our inn and a shamen lives over there and my dads shop is over there," When the came to a path that led out of the village Lulu stopped.
"We have a giant graveyard up there, My mom says all the Hyrule family who's passed away is buried there," She smiled almost devilishly, he was so excited, he could hardly contain himself. Without thinking he started running up the paths incline, "Come on, Henhen!"

"Eh? Bar? I don't remember what a bar is like. I was just always told to never go into them." Henhen stood there in thought, then gasped in surprise as his own arm was grabbed onto. He soon found himself running through the dirt as he was pulled along, and though at first he was a little shocked to be dragged into such a situation, he soon found it quite amusing and started to laugh childishly.
For everything that was said to him, Henhen had a stream of questions that he immediately asked, often overlapping his words with the words of Lulu. Henhen felt a new joy that he had never felt before--like a child feels when playing with someone his own age. Henhen had never had fun with another individual like this before, often only ever being called names and picked on, or being cooped up in his father's shop.
"Eh? An inn? Hey, hey! Is it nice in there? What's a shaman? I've heard about shaman's before, and Papa said that they had some very interesting stories. He told me one once but I can't remember. Your dad has a shop, too? Amazing! I wonder if our fathers would be interested to meet? Papa doesn't leave the town very often."
He stopped his ridiculous ramblings when Lulu stopped pulling him along. Having forgotten that the other person had hold of his arm, Henhen stood there, slightly out of breath from all the running that he wasn't used to doing.
"We have a giant graveyard up there, My mom says all the Hyrule family who's passed away is buried there,"
Suddenly Henhen's face went white, his face upturned in childish fear.
"Eh? A graveyard? I heard those are scary places with dead people and ghosts...wah! I don't want to see a gh--" Henhen cried out in surprise as he found himself running again, too fear stricken to say anything else or struggle

Lulu luaghed as he tugged Hen along, "There aren't any ghosts, trust me! My brothers used to come here all the time!" Lulu continued along, the Graveyard was a short bit away from the town. When the incline peaked they were standing at a wooden gate with a wide expanse of land covered in leaning and broken headstones. It'd been awhile since the place had had a proper grave keeper and the grass was over grown, half the stones covered in rot and lichen.
"See, no ghosts~!" Lulu's voice echoed over the area and he stood with is hands on his hips, the sun still high in the sky and covering the whole place with a brilliant yellow glow. If it wasnt the resting place of a bunch of dead people Luis might have said it was beautiful.

The entire walk to the graveyard, Henhen held a hand to his mouth, as if shielding it from something trying to enter. Which was stupid, of course, but that's what it looked like. His eyes were wide, and if he didn't look more stunned than anything, one might think he was about to cry.
Henhen looked at the features of the location. What one might have considered beautiful, Henhen's coward mind considered terrifying. The gate was scary. The grass was scary. The headstones were scary. The smell was scary. The fact that the place was so untended to made it all that much scarier, as if nature itself was trying to conquer it. Being told that there were no ghosts here did nothing to make Henhen feel better, and the warm sun being in the sky only made him feel more hot.
His senses, as happens when someone is afraid, began to tease him and mock him. He heard what might have been a bird leaving a tree, and he immediately clung onto Lulu like a child might his older brother.
"Hey, hey..." he whispered, as if trying to not be heard. "How do you know there's no ghosts here? I heard that ghosts can go invisible so we wouldn't be able to see them anyway, eh?"

Lulu looked around smiling until Hen clung to his waist when a bird took flight. He raised his arm to look at the boy, almost like a duck checking the young-ling under its wing. He was terrified that was for sure, but Luis was determined to shake this fear, maybe make Hen just that much stronger. He'd done this with each of his brothers, so Hen was just another brother.
"Cause silly, all ghosts care their lamps, without them they'd be lost," He moved his body slightly to make Henhen face the graveyard, "Do you see any ghost lights?"

Henhen wasn't very amused at being forced to face the graveyard, and he immediately covered his face with his hands. He almost turned to run away, but then became distracted with the realization of what was actually said to him.
"Cause silly, all ghosts carry their lamps, without them they'd be lost."
Henhen uncovered his face, and looked up at Lulu, who only stood a few inches taller than himself. At least for a little while, Henhen's fear was overcome by his curiosity, as was clear in his green eyes.
"Hey, hey! Why do ghosts have lanterns? I've never heard of that before. Is it because they can't see? That's why we use lanterns."

Lulu smiled, that was the spirit, he knew he'd sensed a kindred spirit in Hen and knew his curiosity would help him. He put a hand on the boys head and ruffled his hair a bit, looking out over the graveyard, it was relatively quiet, the walls of the small valley kept the sound of the wind at bay, but the birds calls echoed around softly.
"My mom used to tell me that when the people we love leave they're giving a light to care around and as long as they have light the can always stay close by," His mother had actually told him and Cale this story when their grandfather passed, "The longer our relatives hold their light the brighter they burn in our hearts and then they'll always be there, so we never forget them. The ghosts use the lamps so we wont forget that they love us," Lulu smiled, he knew the story was little more than a myth to sooth sadness in a time of passing, but it was a good enough excuse and a cute story if he did say so himself.
